Thursday was our last full day with Charlie and Suvir, and we spent it in Vermont. How did the week go by so fast?
We started out the day with biscuits that are in Suvir's upcoming cookbook, as well as some delicious bacon from Allen Brothers.
The biscuits and bacon were paired with some more fresh eggs, which were, of course, amazing. The biscuits also had some delcious homemade blackberry jam, made from local berries.
After we were nice and full, we got in the car to take the Scenic Drive to the top of Mount Equinox.
It was quite scenic indeed, as you can see here:
It really is beautiful up there.
When I looked through this thing, I could see the Monk's Monastery that is built here.
Even Abraham Lincoln thought that this place was amazing, as he bought land to build his retirement home here!
Sadly, he never got to enjoy the Vermont countryside. But his son did.
Of course, being in Vermont, we had to get Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and I think that somehow it is like ten times better in Vermont than it is in Michigan. I'm just sayin...
Then, we saw a lot of COWS. I like cows.
See that cow on the top left hand corner? Its scratching its head.
Aren't we such a loving and caring family? Sometimes I think we are a bit much for Charlie...
After that, we stopped by a close friend of Suvir and Charlie's, Betty Osborne, whom you may know as the woman who headed Head Start for Washington county. She invited us in to see her amazing home, and of course we accepted.
After a quick tour of the house, we went out to her garden to pick some fresh veggies.
She had LOTS of zucchini's as well. Actually, she had a lot of yummy, delicious vegetables in general:
After we picked all of the vegetables, Charlie and I stopped by the horses for a quick "Hello!"
And then we all got to have some ultra-fresh veggies.
As much as we would've loved to stay and have dinner with Betty, Suvir had another plan for us back at the farm. We were going to have the ultimate of beef delicacies. Kobe-Style Beef.
Imagine all the great things you've heard about Kobe Beef, and multiply them by ten. That's how amazing it was. Suvir didn't have to pull any special chef tricks with this one, I think even if my sister cooked it, it sill would've been one of the best meals of my life.
Just posting these pictures is making my mouth water...
I know its hard to believe, but I think it tasted even better than it looked. And it looked pretty darn delicious.
Thank you so much Suvir and Charlie for such an amazing week, the food was the best I've ever had (and I don't think I'll ever have something as good as the Kobe ever again) and just being with you guys, watching naughty British comedies, make up the memories of what may be the best week of my life.
